Club History

Ralston Golf Club was founded in 1904. The course at Ralston was designed by James Braid, the legendary five-time Open Champion and one of the great course architects of his era.

Originally a nine-hole course on land leased from the Ralston Estate, the club expanded to a full 18 holes in the years that followed. The original clubhouse was the historic Ralston House, a B-listed building that gave the club its character and a distinctive home.

The James Braid design

Braid's parkland layout makes intelligent use of the rolling drumlins on the site. The routing demands accuracy from the tee, careful course management on the approach, and a steady putting stroke on greens that have been admired for over a century.

A modern club with a proud past

Today Ralston is one of West Central Scotland's most welcoming members' clubs. While the course retains the strategic principles laid down by Braid, the clubhouse, practice facilities and pro-shop have all been modernised to give members and visitors a complete golfing experience.

From thriving sections for gents, ladies, seniors and juniors, to an active social calendar in the clubhouse, Ralston continues the traditions established more than 120 years ago.
