Etiquette

Dress & Conduct

Smart, comfortable golfing attire on the course and smart casual in the clubhouse.

On the course

Recognised golf attire is required at all times on the course and practice areas:

  • Tailored trousers or tailored shorts (not cargo, denim or beach shorts)
  • Polo shirts with collars (or recognised golf turtle-necks)
  • Golf shoes with soft spikes — metal spikes are not permitted
  • Tracksuits, football tops, vests and t-shirts are not permitted

In the clubhouse

  • Smart casual is welcome — clean, neat clothing and footwear
  • Trainers are acceptable in the lounge bar but not in the formal dining area
  • Golf shoes are not permitted upstairs
  • Mobile phones — please use discreetly and avoid calls in the dining area

Code of conduct

Members and visitors are expected to play in good spirit, repair pitch marks, replace divots, rake bunkers and observe the standard rules of golf. Slow play is the most common cause of frustration — please keep up with the group ahead and call faster groups through.

The Captain and the Match & Handicap Committee retain the right to remove privileges from any individual found in serious breach of this policy.
